I 1000% getting this book. I had it in print at first but lost it on the last chapter that you are supposed to read. DEFINITELY GET PRINT, the kindle version doesn't have the same effect. This is a remark on consumerism and materialism, and if you can relate to what is presented in the preface with the sears catalog (or any other that are the same way), you will get a much better experience from the book.

This book is one of my favorite books, ever. I picked it up perchance at a library and fell in love with it, purchasing it as soon as I finished the library copy. Chuck Palahniuk is satirical and has a certain philosophy that I couldn't help but agree with as I read. This book will blow your mind. I would recommend it to my fellow cynical, satirical adult friends. Such a great read.
It changes chapters that are on different CD's so it's not really great for the car. But it's always my favorite no matter what the media type.
This was one of my favorite Chuck Palahniuk books, and I wasn't sure how they could improve upon what was already in my opinion - fantastic. I absolutely loved the feel of the "Choose Your Own Adventure" books we had a kid. The best part for me were the hidden stories - chapters with nothing leading to them that could only be found by flipping through the book to see if you missed anything. I've read the remix twice, and still am not convinced I caught everything.

Simply put - Loved it.
...and it does a fine job. Chapter one is almost the end, and is where you're hooked. Tight, pleasant writing about unsavory, drug drenched characters. A narrator who can't talk. An amusing bag of literary tricks.
It is almost identical to the original book....there are no "special insights"...and some pages are printed backwards so you have to get up & read it in the mirror. Too much work to read same stuff I already had in the first version. Palahniuk is a genius & always love his work, but this one really was just a money grab for his publishing house.
I've never read anything like it! How many times have been reading a thriller and you wished you couldn't see how many pages are left? This is that. It's a choose-your-own-adventure book, but without the choice. There are two or three other plot lines (aside from the main story) that loop back around, so if you take a wrong turn you'll figure it out. This is definitely a rocket ride. The characters have some pretty deep mental issues that keep the plot moving in crazy, shocking directions.
I enjoyed reading the book for the most part. I enjoyed taking on the different perspectives of the characters from a world that definitely does exist but is unfamiliar to me. This is the first CP book that I have read and I intend to choose more in the future to read. I would recommend Invisible Monsters to anyone that enjoys tragic characters and learning how they got to their current start or tragedy. There is some minor resolution in the book for the main character (Shannon) but for everyone else it’s tragic. Give it a try and maybe you will enjoy it.
